Plastic Surgeon with Expertise in Microvascular Breast and Lymphatic Surgery
About Us:
Sentara Medical Group is expanding our first-class, full-service plastic surgery program in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA. Our program is primarily situated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a 525-bed, level one trauma center, and the main teaching hospital for EVMS. Voted #1 Hospital in Virginia, our tertiary medical center, with all specialties represented, serves a large patient population. The Virginia Beach - Norfolk metropolitan area, the largest in Virginia, will greatly benefit from our robust plastic surgery program.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a plastic surgeon to join our rapidly growing team of Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons. The diverse case mix includes, but is not limited to, the full spectrum of breast and lymphatic reconstruction, scalp reconstruction, oncologic reconstruction, and limb salvage. Ideal candidates will have a fellowship in Reconstructive Microvascular Surgery. Sentara is committed to creating a sustainable work-life balance for its surgeons. Joining our program provides access to advanced practice providers, sufficient operative block time, office space, and full-service clinical support.
Opportunities:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute, if desired, to the development of a premier plastic surgery training program. Opportunities extend to collaboration with, Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, Sentara Leigh Hospital/Brock Cancer Center, and utilization of office-based operating rooms.
Academic Environment:
If you have an interest in academics, our integrated residency program with Eastern Virginia Medical School, is recently approved to increase to two residents per year and is rapidly growing alongside a large, multi-disciplinary team of surgeons that is also increasing. Our mission is to deliver superior care, train the next generation of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and perform at a national level. EVMS has a rich history in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and there are ample research and educational opportunities.
