Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting semiconductor processing equipment (e.g., wet etch equipment, wafer handling, Spin Rinser Dryers (SRDs), wet benches, or metering pumps).
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment processes and automation systems (e.g., PLCs, robotics, etc.).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's or PhD degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 year of technical leadership expertise.
  • Advanced aptitude in equipment engineering directly related to wet etch equipment and processes.
ABOUT THE JOB:

The Raxium Facility and Equipment team maintains a broad range of semiconductor and facility equipment and cleanroom infrastructure. Our expertise lies in understanding the relationship between semiconductor processing and its support equipment, enabling us to troubleshoot problems, execute tasks and collaborate on installing, modifying, maintaining and repairing cleanroom and facility support equipment.

As a Senior Wet Chemical Process Equipment Engineer, safety and quality guide everything you do. You will play a central role in our MicroLED and AR development by supporting experiments, driving the installation, upkeep, and optimization of a broad equipment suite; including automated wet benches, spray tools, ECP, SRDs, and chemical handling systems. Working alongside cross-functional teams, you will manage complex hardware issues to improve tool uptime and line yield.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $144000 - $208000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the primary equipment contact for process engineering across wet process and wet etch modules, maximizing tool availability and process stability.
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade cleanroom equipment, including automated wafer handling, robotics, chemical delivery, ECP, batch, and single-wafer systems for wet etch, cleaning, and metal lift-off.
  • Lead advanced root-cause troubleshooting for tool-down situations and support new equipment installations, hookups, and qualifications.
  • Work with semiconductor chemicals while mentoring and supporting the broader equipment engineering team.
