Front End Web Developer (Experience Engineer)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Position Type: 18 Months Contract
About the Role
As a Front End Web Developer (Experience Engineer), you will join our in-house creative agency to turn digital marketing visions into intuitive, high-performance customer experiences. Partnering with cross-functional marketing, design, and engineering teams, you will build scalable digital web applications, implement modern design systems, and integrate headless content platforms to elevate customer engagement and brand reach across enterprise digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
  • Frontend Architecture & Development: Develop, scale, and maintain enterprise web experiences using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Component Design Systems: Build modular, reusable, and responsive UI components that strictly adhere to corporate design systems, semantic HTML, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Headless CMS Integration: Configure, model, and maintain content schemas within Sanity CMS (or comparable headless platforms); leverage GROQ/GraphQL/REST APIs to deliver dynamic, personalized web content.
  • Performance & Optimization: Optimize web applications for cross-browser compatibility, responsive rendering, SEO, page load speeds, and core web vitals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner actively with UX/UI designers, content authors, business analysts, and backend engineers within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.
  • Code Quality & Governance: Participate in peer code reviews, sprint ceremonies, troubleshooting sessions, and maintain detailed technical implementation documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Practical experience developing modern web applications utilizing React and Next.js.
  • Solid understanding of semantic HTML, modern CSS, TypeScript, and core JavaScript design patterns.
  • Experience integrating headless CMS architectures (e.g., Sanity CMS, Contentful, Strapi) with frontend frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive web design principles.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs or GraphQL for data ingestion and dynamic rendering.
  • Experience utilizing Git for version control and collaborative branching strategies within Agile teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience with React.js and Next.js.
  • Direct experience configuring Sanity CMS, including schema modeling, Sanity Studio customization, and authoring GROQ queries.
  • Experience building modular user interfaces with Tailwind CSS and enterprise component libraries.
  • Familiarity with unit and end-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Vitest, Mabl) and Agile collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Prior experience developing web applications within financial services or highly regulated enterprise environments.
