Job description


Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing exhibition installation, organize food/beverage for opening, attend opening, manage exhibitions.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise student gallery assistants, including students responsible for gallery sitting hours, installation support, de-installation, and public-facing gallery responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with ART 580 faculty and Senior Comprehensive Project students to support student exhibitions, including wall text, exhibition layout, promotional materials, opening receptions, and other related needs.
  • Coordinate visiting artist programming connected to gallery exhibitions, including artist travel, lodging, schedules, class visits, panels, workshops, and public talks. Organize visiting artist panels or public events, including identifying and communicating with moderators, coordinating event logistics, and supporting student participation.
  • Administer the gallery budget, ensuring that artists, speakers, vendors, and participants are paid or reimbursed appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Work toward stronger community engagement by developing relationships with local educators, community partners, and regional arts organizations. A future goal of this position should include expanded K-12 visits, community-engaged events, and more consistent public programming.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years preferred of relevant professional experience.
