Job Summary

Serves as leader of change agent. Performs patient evaluations and administers interventions in department or ambulatory clinics. Performs related duties such as departmental performance improvement and clinical education, and serves as clinical supervisors to assistant and support personnel. Also serves as specialist to program or product line. Adheres to practice act, regulations and rules, departmental policy and procedure, and documentation and reimbursement rules applicable to ambulatory care. Manages patient appointment system and work with front office on service authorization, certification and recertification. Demonstrates competence to adapt work and customer service to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and other developmental needs of patients.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Transitional DPT or PhD in Physical Therapy. Current Texas license. Specialty Certification. Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
  • Work Experience (Years and Area): Four (4) Years Work Experience as a PT. Will accept minimum 1 year experience as an PT with 6 years' experience as a PTA for candidates having experience as a PTA and have completed a bridge program to be licensed as an PT. Half (1/2) credit given for prior PTA experience, cap at 5 years of experience.
  • Equipment Operated: Competency in Physical Therapy Equipment

  • Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact) Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking) Bilingual Skills Required: No Languages: Spanish, Vietnamese preferred Writing /Composing (Correspondence /Reports)
  • Other Skills: Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, Research, P.C., MS Word
  • Work Schedule: Flexible
  • Other Requirements: Previous work experience or internship in ambulatory setting is preferred.
