Senior Vice President (Sr. VP) of Quality


Position Summary

The Senior Vice President of Quality is a key executive responsible for establishing and executing the global quality strategy across Pivotal Systems' worldwide operations. This executive will lead all aspects of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, Reliability Engineering, Customer Quality, Regulatory Compliance, and Continuous Improvement while ensuring products consistently exceed customer expectations in the semiconductor industry.


Key Responsibilities


Executive Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's global quality vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap.
  • Build a world-class quality organization supporting global manufacturing and customer operations.
  • Serve as a member of the executive leadership team and provide strategic direction regarding quality initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.

Quality Management

  • Lead all Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Establish global quality standards, policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Drive defect prevention initiatives utilizing statistical methodologies and advanced quality tools.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, semiconductor industry standards, and customer-specific requirements.

Supplier Quality

  • Develop supplier qualification, auditing, and performance management programs.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to improve supplier quality, delivery performance, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead supplier corrective actions and supplier development initiatives.

Customer Quality

  • Establish proactive customer quality management processes.
  • Lead customer escalations and corrective action programs.
  • Improve customer satisfaction through rapid problem resolution and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Field Service to strengthen customer relationships.

Reliability Engineering

  • Direct product reliability testing and qualification activities.
  • Improve product life-cycle reliability using data-driven methodologies.
  • Utilize Failure Analysis, FMEA, Reliability Growth Modeling, HALT/HASS, DOE, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.

Manufacturing Quality

  • Lead incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and outgoing quality assurance.
  • Improve manufacturing yields, process capability, and first-pass quality.
  • Reduce scrap, rework, warranty costs, and customer returns.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Establish measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Drive global cost reduction and process optimization projects.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Oversee internal audits, external audits, and certification activities.
  • Maintain quality management systems and documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering during product development and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Collaborate with Operations to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Support Sales and Customer Success organizations during customer qualification activities.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead global Quality, Supplier Quality, Reliability Engineering, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing quality leaders.
  • Build succession plans and organizational capability.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource planning.


Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration (MBA) preferred.


Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive quality leadership experience.
  • 10+ years leading global quality organizations within semiconductor equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, or other high-technology manufacturing industries.
  • Executive leadership experience with multi-site global operations.
  • Proven success implementing enterprise-wide quality systems and operational excellence initiatives.
