Job Title: Senior UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting Developer

Location: Albany, NY (Day 1 Onsite)
Duration: 24 Months
Employment Type: Contract


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting Developer to design, develop, and maintain batch processing and automation solutions in a UNIX/Linux environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in shell scripting, system administration automation, and leading development efforts within an agile framework.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain shell scripts using Bash and Korn Shell (ksh)
  • Develop and implement batch processing solutions for automation of system administration tasks, data processing, and file operations
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to design efficient and scalable solutions
  • Execute and optimize SQL logic using SQL Plus in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, scripts, and system processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system enhancements and issue resolution
  • Lead and mentor small development teams within an agile project environment
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices
  • Maintain technical documentation and support deployment processes

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years (84 months) of experience writing Bash and Korn Shell (ksh) scripts
  • 7+ years of experience working within UNIX/Linux environments via command line
  • 6+ years (72 months) of experience developing batch processing and automation solutions
  • 6+ years of experience performing requirement analysis and solution design
  • 5+ years (60 months) of experience leading development teams in an agile environment
  • 3+ years (36 months) of experience using SQL Plus to execute SQL queries in UNIX/Linux
