Summary

The Sr Manager, Layout Design, will work on designing high performance custom analog and mixed signal layout for integrated circuits using design rules and expert problem-solving skills; applies these skill sets so that layout conforms to engineering specifications. Manages direct reports and layout teams. This position will be on-site in Hillsboro, OR. 

Responsibilities
  • Completes work through use of CAD layout software
  • Works closely with engineering to provide high quality layout in a timely manner
  • Proficient in leading top-level layout and coordinating, scheduling, and advising project layout resources to resolve technical problems and meet project schedules.
  • Ability to do block level, macro level and top level; floor planning, assembly and verification utilizing best analog layout practices
  • Experience working in multiple processes
  • Ability to manage direct reports on a daily basis
  • Ability to lead peers/teams on complex blocks and top level
  • Coordinates with design lead on methods, procedures, and schedules of new assignments/projects.
  • Communicates regular status updates
  • Takes on mentoring/leadership roles to promote high quality work of entire team
  • Evaluates new tool/features and proactively shares knowledge with peers
  • Creates presentations, training documents and project guidelines for layout and engineering peers.
  • Recommends/follows methodologies and operational policies
  • In depth knowledge of project planning and budgets/managing contractors
  • Other duties as required.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Strong understanding of basic electrical properties and principals
  • Strong familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Layout XL, Calibre, and Unix
  • Recognizes common analog structures, process matching techniques and layout dependent effects
  • Strong knowledge of Latchup prevention and ESD protection schemes
  • Strong familiarity with P&R methods a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Outstanding communication and verbal presentation skills.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 15+ years of layout experience with 5+ years as a layout manager
  • An advanced degree may reduce the minimum experience required

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $143,000 - $286,400 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
