Job description

Audubon is currently seeking aSenior Technical Safety Associateto join our team in our Houston, TX Office.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for the quality of Technical Safety deliverables
  • Support and supervise task delegation to team, as required
  • Participatein audits as required
  • Ensure that design meets all Technical Safety requirements
  • Participate in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required and experience of coordinating HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Classification studies and other workshops
  • Manage and review 3rd party studies such as QRA, FERA, EERA etc., as required
  • Fire Protection and Engineering Design experience including preparation ofFire Water PID's,Performance of Fire Water demand calculations,Performance of Fire Water Hydraulic modelling using PIPENET or similar
  • Performance of Passive Fire Protection studies and drawings
  • Preparation of Fire and Gas Detection layouts, Safety Equipment layouts, Safety Signage etc.
  • Aid in Manhours estimation and scheduling for project proposals

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from ABET Accredited Institution preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or Fire Protection & Safety Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineering Certification Preferred.
  • 10+ years industry experience preferred,
  • Working knowledge of codes (API, etc.) and Process Safety Regulations preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing, including public speaking to groups of up to 30 professionals.
  • Ability to lead teams to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • Ability to lead teams to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems.
  • Ability to provide instruction and clarification to team members.
