JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE


Conducts training for licensed, non-licensed operators, and shift technical advisors in reactor operations covering replacement, requalification, upgrade, etc., consistent with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) requirements. Develops and maintains operations training programs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers training programs to ensure the availability of qualified and licensed personnel.
  • Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using the systematic approach to training.
  • Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Minimum education required for the position

  • 5 years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.

Minimum experience required for the position

  • Ops Instructor, Non-Licensed: At least 3 years of front-line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction.
  • Ops Instructor, Sr: At least 3 years of front-line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction -AND- current or previously SRO licensed or certified.
  • Ops Instructor, Sr Staff: At least five years of experience in the associated line organization.
    • Desired: 3 years previously licensed as PWR SRO.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position

  • Technical proficiency in the assigned area.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

  • Ops Instructor, Non-Licensed: Desired: SRO license or certification on BWR, PWR or both.
  • Ops Instructor, Sr & Sr Staff: Required: SRO license or certification on BWR/PWR -OR- 3 years fully qualified Non-Licensed
