Job description

Traffic/Transportation Engineer – Senior Technical

We are looking to hire a senior-level professional with 7+ years of experience to work with the Transportation group in our Warwick, RI office.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed engineering analysis tasks, such as traffic analysis; traffic signal sequencing, phasing and timing; traffic data collection; technical reports; and traffic modeling and simulation

  • Prepare engineering plans including traffic signal design; intersection geometrics including Complete Streets principles; pavement markings and signage; and temporary traffic control and construction staging plans

  • Assist in preparation of contract documents, including plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates

  • Provide technical assistance and lead technical aspects on multiple and a variety of transportation and transportation related projects

  • Provide responsive client service and strong communication, both internally and externally

  • Supervise and complete traffic planning and engineering analyses, alternatives analysis and designs

  • Prepare materials and attend project related meetings outside of the office with clients, agencies, and the public

  • Attend client meetings, presentations and public hearings

  • Maintain organized project files

  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and aids in the delegation of tasks

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of relevant traffic/transportation experience

  • PE required, PTOE preferred

  • Experience with traffic impact studies, corridor studies, signal design, and signing / pavement marking

  • Experience using CADD (AutoCAD or MicroStation), Vissim, and Synchro

  • Experience with Public Meetings or Forums preferred

  • Management experience preferred
