This job requisition is for a MTS/Principal Process Development Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc. As a MTS/Principal Process Development Engineer, you will be part of a revolutionary Advanced DRAM Technology Development team! The position promises ample opportunity for innovation, collaboration and testing new dimensions in Advanced DRAM. You will work directly with Process Integration and other process areas including Dry Etch, Wet etch, CVD, Diffusion, Lithography and CMP. You will work on state of the art and best in class wet etch tooling and own the process roadmap to meet program and yield goals. Are you ready for the challenge?
Expectations for this role include, but not limited to:
  • Technically innovate: Drive strategic technical and tactical decisions at a project and platform level by contributing to feasibility studies; Proactively engage technical challenges before they become problems. Key processes include vapor/plasma etching, selective wet etching, surface prep, and high aspect processing.
  • Technically Focus: Have the vision and technical skills to relate technologies and business plans of group and other group's projects; Actively build Micron Intellectual Property; Aware of external technical advancements substantiated with understanding of the state-of-the art
  • Impact Results: Lead Micron IP into successful technical readiness and transition to program integration.
  • Influence: Regularly interact with senior management to provide consultation and influence technical and strategic decisions; Crafts alliances with customers.
  • Skill and experience: Regularly drive product planning/roadmap, platform features, and functional area strategy with a focus on scientific fundamentals

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field is required. Suitable experience includes research done during pursuit of a PhD with 10 years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in low resistive metallization, lateral contact silicidation, high aspect-ratio metals fill, wafer stress management, implantation to resolve issues, and solving highly complex problems by documenting potentially innovative solutions to new equipment modification and process research, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience leading significant projects in DRAM/NAND FEOL, MOL, CAP, Wafer Bonding, CMOS, BEOL modules to support technical innovation in areas such as process or product application that can be delivered across the fabs.
  • Understanding solid-state physics including transition metal oxides, metals, surfaces, and interfaces, understanding fundamental challenges in materials exploration for device scaling.
  • Understanding chemical kinetics and their direct application to CVD, ALD, and PVD deposition processes in various deposition reactors.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing. Experience in DRAM or Memory is preferred
  • An understanding of different types of thin-film analysis techniques such as SIMS, XPS, EDS, AFM, SEM, TEM, and XRR.
  • Incorporation of AI into daily work role. Specific emphasis in coding, automation, and/or data science paired with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience on thin film deposition equipment in a lab or clean-room environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques. Evaluating and making insightful inferences from large amounts of various types of data, such as electrical and physical analysis.
