Job description

A Senior Systems Integration engineer position supporting gas turbines control system development is currently available at Belcan in Indianapolis, IN. This is a full-time, direct job with full benefits. This opportunity if for onsite in Indianapolis, however remote will be considered based on experience. Great matching candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Other related disciplines may be considered depending on experience. You will be a key team member that supports projects integrating engine programs into the airframe or OEM platforms.
Job Duties:
· Working directly with the engine control systems Integration team and OEM/Airframer team addressing requirements and issues integration of the engine control system into the airframe or other platforms.
·Use your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge engine control systems.
· Additional roles may include supporting Engine Test, Systems Test rig and Simulation development and software development teams.
Required Qualifications:
· Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is REQUIRED
· A bachelor's or master's degree in, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
· Gas turbine experience is required with experience integrating engine control systems interfaces with airframe components. These systems include ARINC A429, RVDT/LVDT analog systems and other discrete systems communication systems as well as power bus management.
· High attention to detail to be able to work both independently and effectively within a team environment.
· Experience with FAA part 33 and Part 25 certifications.
· Well knowledge in SAE ARP4754 development and Verification & Validation process. Experience in RTCA DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160 software and hardware certifications preferred.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
· Experienced with requirement management tools such as DOORS and configuration management tools, including JIRA, Integrity or other similar tools.
· General control law knowledge and the ability to use Matlab/Simulink for control law development.
· Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
· Ability to work in a hybrid work environment including virtual teams
· Self-motivated and highly organized contributor willing to help others be successful - as a key team member you will earn responsibility, accountability to the team, and enjoy job satisfaction.
· Strong interpersonal skills, ability to be inquisitive and be highly communicative are critical to your success in this role to enable team engagement, team representation to customers and stakeholders (verbal and non-verbal forms of communication).
· Preferred candidate will have a minimum of 10 years relative experience in system development lifecycle including Verification and validation.
· Ability to travel locally up to 25%

This position is offering an salary rate of 90,000 to $160,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
