This individual partners closely with business stakeholders, application teams, infrastructure engineers, and leadership to translate business needs into effective architectural solutions, while providing guidance throughout the full project lifecycle. The role also plays a key part in modernizing the technology landscape through the use of enterprise architecture frameworks and by identifying opportunities for automation and AI-enabled enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain system architectures, solution designs, standards, and technical specifications
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing system solutions
  • Create architecture diagrams, interface specifications, logical models, and “as-built” documentation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to support system modernization
  • Support service lifecycle processes and cross-functional initiatives with architectural guidance
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather, refine, and validate requirements
  • Guide implementation teams to ensure alignment with approved architectural designs
  • Communicate architectural decisions, risks, and recommendations to leadership
  • Apply enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, LeanIX or similar) to support governance
  • Define and enforce architecture standards, integration patterns, and best practices
  • Ensure system designs meet enterprise requirements for security, compliance, scalability, and performance
  • Maintain architecture artifacts across the full system lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and optimize systems and operations
  • Support the design and adoption of AI-assisted tools and agents for system management and architecture
  • Recommend improvements to integration patterns, data flows, and system interoperability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, or similar technical roles
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale system architectures
  • Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), including PaaS and serverless architectures
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, integration patterns (API-based, messaging, ETL), and system interoperability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with databases, data modeling, and data flow design
  • Experience with microservices, containerization, and modern cloud-native architectures
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Exposure to AIOps or AI-assisted operational tooling
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman)
  • TOGAF certification
