Senior Systems Engineer - Business Systems Risk and IntegrationPosition Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the integration, deployment, and risk management of a large portfolio of business-enabling systems. This position will work with program leadership and technical stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and reduce risks throughout multiple integration and deployment phases.

The successful candidate will bring a strong systems-engineering foundation, experience conducting technical and programmatic risk assessments, and familiarity with commercial business systems, cloud environments, and enterprise system implementations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support program leadership and the Integration Lead in developing and executing risk assessments for enterprise business-system initiatives.
  • Identify technical, programmatic, integration, deployment, schedule, security, and operational risks.
  • Group and prioritize risks according to planned integration and deployment phases.
  • Develop risk statements, impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and recommended courses of action.
  • Maintain risk registers and track mitigation activities through closure.
  • Evaluate risks associated with commercial off-the-shelf products and enterprise software solutions.
  • Facilitate Integrated Product Teams and working groups focused on reducing risks in current and future system increments.
  • Coordinate with engineering, acquisition, security, cloud, financial, and program-management stakeholders.
  • Assess dependencies and integration challenges across a portfolio of more than 20 business-enabling systems.
  • Support technical reviews, implementation planning, research, and decision briefings.
  • Document findings, recommendations, action items, and risk-management decisions.
  • Provide systems-engineering guidance throughout the system integration and deployment lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in systems engineering, system integration, enterprise technology implementation, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments and developing risk-management strategies.
  • Experience supporting complex system integration or deployment initiatives.
  • Ability to assess technical and programmatic dependencies across multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or facilitating Integrated Product Teams, technical working groups, or risk-review sessions.
  • Strong analytical, research, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical risks and recommendations to both technical teams and senior leadership.
