Job description


SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Air Force's next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Sentinel Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
This is a great opportunity to work on the most exciting and challenging development and acquisition effort in the DoD with a great company. This position requires the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the United States Air Force manage its internal deliverable review process for the Sentinel program.
  • Evaluating the Prime contractor's mechanical drawings and deliverables.
  • Supporting data review of Major Milestone Design Reviews.
  • Developing support documents, summaries, reports, presentations and other designated products in support of Government senior leaders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Physics, or Mathematics with 5+ years (with BS) or 3 years (with MS) directly related experience.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with a background investigation completed < 6 years prior to hiring.
  • Deepen hands-on experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and processes (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody).
  • Expertise in Requirements Management and Traceability using tools such as DOORS to track technical baselines and bidirectional compliance.
  • Experience with preparing for technical milestone reviews like SRR, PDR, CDR to support government decision points.
  • Strong background in verification and validation processes for highly regulated systems, especially in government or aerospace domains.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Professional Engineering License and/or Systems Engineering experience and/or Certification.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Systems engineering/Agile tools: Cameo, MATLAB, DOORS, JIRA, Confluence.
  • Classified government IT systems experience.
