Details:
Sr. Azure System Admin
Duration: 6-12 months CTH
Location: Houston TX - Onsite
Overview:
The Systems Administrator Senior role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers, primarily in Microsoft Azure, and workstations to achieve system and business application high performance. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, handling all configurations/new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing environment management.
Duties:
Plan and implement upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches on servers primarily in the Microsoft Azure environment. Perform capacity management and planning. (~40%)
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, file systems, application software and system management tools on servers and workstations. Manage directory services and infrastructure ensuring highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Analyze and evaluate solutions and provide technical recommendations to improve operations and utilization. (~25%)
- Fulfill service requests promptly minimizing business impact. Liaise with other IT resources and outside vendors for problem resolution. (~20%)
- Participate and lead key projects and initiatives. Implement new platforms as requested to support business need. (~15%)
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to provide hands-on Tier II and Tier III configuration and support of servers and workstations.
- Delivering projects on-time.
- Ability to pay close attention to details with good planning and organization skills.

Knowledge of:
- In depth knowledge and proficiency in Windows and Linux based server environments and virtualization technologies (Windows Server 2012 - 2022, Azure, and VMware).
- In depth knowledge and proficiency in server architecture and roles, data communications, on-site and cloud technical support, network security management, electronic messaging services, data management services, and remote access services.
- In dept knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Azure.
- In depth knowledge and proficiency in Windows and Linux O/S backup methodologies.
- In depth knowledge and proficiency in collaboration tools (Microsoft 365 - Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
- In depth knowledge and proficiency in Active Directory Services.
- In depth knowledge and proficiency in SCOM/SCSM/SCCM/SCEP, Orchestrator server, and Intune.
- In dept knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and Endpoint Protection.
In depth knowledge and proficiency in Network Management Center tools and practices.
- In depth knowledge and proficiency in PC, printer, telephony, mobility, and other ancillary IT device configuration/support.
- In depth knowledge and proficiency of workstation software packaging and deployment techniques.
- Current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- WAN/LAN Architecture in medium to large enterprises utilizing Cisco and Meraki devices.
- Internet and cloud-based technologies.
- IT Security principles.
Minimum Education and Certification:
- Associate degree in MIS, IT, or other related discipline. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
5 or more years of experience in the following:
- Tier III hands-on technical support.
- Server infrastructure in the cloud (Microsoft Azure) and on-prem including installation, management, and support.
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012-2022, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, DFS-R, File and Print Services, and GPO validation, installation, management, and support.
- Microsoft Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and Endpoint Protection.
- KPIs and Certificate services.
- Installation, configuration, and support of all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment.
- Administration of VMware, Hyper-V, and Terminal Services.
10+ years of experience in the following:
- Tier I and Tier II hands-on technical support.
- Microsoft O/S including Windows, Office, web browsers, virus protection, and other standard and ancillary workstation and ancillary device software.
- PC, printer, telephony, mobility, and other ancillary IT device configuration/support.
- Workstation deployment and packaging techniques.
- Mobility provisioning, deployment, and tracking.
- User access control.
