SYBASE DBA - Secret
Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level DBA. The Mid-Level Sybase DBA supports the administration, tuning, modernization, and maintenance of Sybase-based systems operating within Azure cloud environments. This role ensures reliable data operations, optimizes performance, and assists in cloud migration initiatives. Location: Remote
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Sybase ASE/SQL databases and associated configurations in Azure environments.
  • Optimize database performance, diagnose and resolve Sybase-related issues, and support cloud-hosted workloads.
  • Implement and monitor database backup, recovery, and continuity strategies across Azure services.
  • Support database refactoring and migration efforts from on-premises Sybase environments into Azure IaaS/PaaS architectures.
  • Collaborate with ETL, reporting, and data quality teams to ensure consistency and reliable data flows.
  • Apply Azure-native monitoring, automation, and security capabilities to Sybase workloads.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Understanding of 8140 Cyber Security Compliance requirements and secure database handling practices.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Sybase ASE/SQL development, administration, tuning, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Army Contractor experience
  • Prior experience supporting Azure environment
