Function: The Senior Sales Associate will assist management in creating and sustaining a pleasant work environment and excellent customer relationships.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Sales Associate rev 10.12.23.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in creating and sustaining a pleasant and hospitable work environment and excellent customer relationships.
  • Be well-versed in and ensure compliance to accounting, employee, and store policies.
  • Assist the manager in meeting sales, production, and expense budget goals maintaining a profitable operation.
  • Receive applications and participate in interviewing applicants when needed.
  • Ensure that all safety measures are consistent with The Salvation Army policy and Government regulations and all personnel comply.
  • Assist in scheduling of sales associates and unpaid staff as required.
  • Assist in completion of payroll information biweekly for all store personnel noting signatures, absenteeism, overtime, etc. Submit same as requested.
  • Assist Manager and Assistant Manager to ensure that the store is well stocked, and all merchandise is “ragged out” and colorized in accordance with the ARC Command Rag Out Calendar.
  • Assist in training, direction, and supervision for new employees and unpaid staff along with retraining for all personnel, as requested. Beneficiaries on work therapy assignments need special attention and guidance.
  • Responsible for the proper accounting and banking of cash receipts as per “Safekeeping of Salvation Army Funds” policy.
  • Ensure all paperwork and sales reports are filled out completely and forwarded to the finance department daily.
  • Responsible for maintaining good customer relations recognizing the type of service expected from employees of The Salvation Army.
  • Fill in for Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager as needed.
  • Function as the 3rd Key, opening/closing the store as scheduled, including making bank deposits.
  • This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct and work habits.

Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in sales.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
  • Good communication and supervisory skills.
