Job description

Overview: The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BA) on the Dashboard Building Team will work under the direction of the Director of Data Analytics to build dashboards using Power BI. This position will play a critical role in designing, creating and maintaining visualization dashboards that support measurement-based care and data driven decision making.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test and implement dashboards across the agency.

Work as a liaison between clinical staff and the Dashboard Building and EHR team to translate clinical needs into dashboard and reporting tools. Help design tools, workflows, and training materials for technical teams and dashboard users.

Maintain reports of users of the dashboards, number of staff trained and other metrics related to the implementation of measurement-based care.

Create visually appealing user-friendly dashboards that effectively communicate key performance indicators, metrics and support data driven decision making and evaluation of clinical outcomes.

Support the professional development of other Business System Analyst in teaching, training and advancing their dashboard building skills.

Participate in all processes for dashboard development: data identification, retrieval, processing, cleaning, modeling for dashboards.

Customize dashboards to meet specific needs of different programs and projects within the organization.

Maintain and update published dashboards. Respond to user identified issues or problems with access or dashboard operations.

Ensure confidential or sensitive data is handled securely following agency policy and in accordance with protection laws.

Work collaboratively with agency staff and with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) manager and team to incorporate EHR system data.

Assist in developing and delivering training on dashboard use to staff, trouble shoot and respond to dashboard access or program operation issues and fix issues in a timely manner.

Travel between sites.

Qualifications:

Prior experience working as a business analyst in the healthcare industry, defining and measuring key performance indicators related to client or population health, and effectiveness of healthcare services.

Bachelor’s Degree in in computer science, data science, statistics, analytics or a related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Professional work experience required, with 1 to 2 years of Business Systems experience required, 2 to 4 years preferred.

Experience with SQL databases, query development and SQL Server Reporting Services. Working knowledge of Business Intelligence applications and reporting technologies.

Programing in R and/or Python preferred.

Ability to gather data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, data warehouses and integrate into dashboards for real time updates.

Experience with developing dashboards using Power-BI preferred, or similar software, such as Tableau.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.

Possess business experience sufficient to meet the demands of the position, including proficiency with a variety of software applications.

Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
