Job description

Description
Find your future at United!
We're reinventing what our industry looks like and what an airline can be - from the planes we fly to the people who fly them. When you join us, you're joining a global team of 100,000+ connected by a shared passion with a broad spectrum of experience and skills to lead the way forward.
Achieving our goals starts with supporting yours. Grow your career, access top-tier health and wellness benefits, build lasting connections with your team and our customers, and travel the world using our extensive route network.
Create what's next with us. Let's define tomorrow together!
At United, we operate some of the world's best aircraft. Our Technical Operations team comprises aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams, ensuring they're well-equipped and ready to transport our customers to their desired destinations. If you're prepared to work on our planes, join our Tech Ops experts and help keep our fleet in tip-top shape.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Staff Representative in Quality Assurance - Internal Audit, you will play a key role in supporting United Airlines' compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards through audits, investigations, and continuous improvement efforts. This role is critical to the integrity of our Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) and the safety and reliability of our operations. You will conduct comprehensive audits, assess operational compliance, and collaborate across departments to drive high standards of quality and performance.
  • Lead and execute audits and investigations in alignment with 14 CFR Part 121.373 and United's CASS program.
  • Conduct internal and external compliance audits, approvals, and surveillance of Technical Operations and vendor practices.
  • Perform risk assessments, write detailed audit reports, and monitor corrective actions to ensure regulatory and quality standards are met.
  • Support continuous improvement by evaluating regulatory compliance across maintenance, engineering, fueling, aircraft records, procurement, and manufacturing.
  • Investigate quality and process issues using interviews, data analysis, and evidence collection to identify root causes and validate corrective/preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize audit findings, ensure follow-up actions, and support audit closure and reporting.
  • Provide guidance to CASS Review Board and maintain effective liaison with the FAA and other regulatory authorities.
  • Represent United in industry and regulatory meetings, serving as the company's subject matter expert.
  • Communicate audit insights and recommendations to senior leadership through reports and presentations.
  • Apply Safety Management System (SMS) principles in all surveillance and auditing activities.

Note: This is a remote position with a 50% travel requirement. While the role is fully remote, we prefer candidates based near one of our hub locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Newark, Houston, or Washington D.C. (IAD)

  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn company systems
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview is required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
