Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Database Technology Solutions Development

  • Provides architecture and development for new Dynamics AX interfaces and internal modifications as necessary
  • Provides architecture and development across all supported SQL server features/components such as: High Availability, Disaster Recovery, SQL Server monitoring, Data Collection, and others utilizing T-SQL, PowerShell and .Net development tools
  • Focuses on further increasing the levels of automation and self-service
  • Collaborates with key vendors and Embedded IT teams in providing innovative added value solutions to the company's SQL Server infrastructure

2. Operationalize new SQL Server features

  • Research new SQL Server features and provide recommendations on their implementation in the company environment
  • Participate in designing and implementing new solutions utilizing SQL Server features
  • Provide detailed documentation, technical presentations and training for development and support teams

3. Problem Resolution and Process Management

  • Drive problem resolution and root cause analysis across the technology stack
  • Participate in the resolution of database availability, capacity, and performance issues
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of internal processes and SQL Server tools
  • Participate in infrastructure and organizational initiatives across multiple IT disciplines

4. Other duties as required

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in ERP systems
  • Experience in relational database data warehouse development and maintenance
  • 5+ years of experience in an SQL Server Data Administration role
  • 3 + years of experience as a Senior Professional DBA
  • 3 + years of experience developing applications in Transact SQL
  • Hands on experience working with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from concept to production delivery
  • Experience mentoring junior level DBAs
  • Experience working on initiatives across multiple IT disciplines 
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of and adherence to SDLC standards
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with collaborative work groups to resolve service issues
  • Ability to participate and drive problem resolution and root cause analysis
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills including the ability to communicate technical and business information to both technical and non-technical people
  • Proven ability to establish strong partnerships with customers, vendors and peers
  • Must be able to work with a diverse workgroup made up of various cultural backgrounds, both remote and local employees
  • Must be able to work both as a team member and independently in multi-tasking fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • This position is required to participate in the company's on-call rotation
