Automated Software Test Engineer C++ / Python | Ground Missile Defense Full-Time with an Employee Owned and Best Places to Work Contractor Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Schedule: 9x80 We are hiring an Automated Software Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Weapon System , a mission-critical component of the U.S. Missile Defense System. This role requires an active Secret security clearance and experience with automated software testing, C++, Python, GitLab, GUI-based test automation tools, and system integration testing supporting Department of Defense (DoD) software development and verification efforts. Responsibilities: * Design, develop, implement, and execute automated test plans, integration plans, and test procedures for mission-critical software applications. * Develop and maintain automated test capabilities used to verify software functionality for the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Weapon System. * Perform system-level integration testing to validate software performance and ensure requirements compliance. * Interpret system requirements and test documentation to develop effective verification strategies and test criteria. * Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using C++, Python, and other scripting languages. * Utilize GUI-based automation tools, including Eggplant or comparable testing frameworks, to automate functional and integration testing. * Support source code management and collaborative software development using GitLab, Bitbucket, or similar version control platforms. * Identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects discovered during testing activities. * Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and integration teams to ensure successful software delivery and mission readiness. * Travel up to 10% as required to support program and customer needs. Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law * Active, in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret Security Clearance required. * Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or a related technical discipline preferred. * Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience, or PhD with 1+ year of related experience. * Experience designing, developing, implementing, and executing automated software test plans and system integration testing. * Experience developing testing criteria to validate software and system requirements. * Proficiency in C++ software development. * Experience developing automation using Python and other scripting languages. * Experience using Eggplant or other GUI-based automated testing tools. * Experience with GitLab, Bitbucket, or other source code/version control systems. * Ability to interpret technical requirements and test guidance for software verification activities. * Ability to travel up to 10% as required. * Ability to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama. Preferred Qualifications: * Current Security+ certification. * Experience supporting the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Weapon System or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs. * Experience with Java development or Java application support. * Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler. * Active, in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
