Job description

Salesforce Software Quality Engineer (Durham, NC; Denver, CO; or Hoboken, NJ.)
The Select Group is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to join a Salesforce CRM Platform team supporting the continued growth of a Customer Success Experience (CSX) initiative. This individual will be responsible for testing Salesforce Service Cloud functionality, with a primary focus on the end-to-end Case Management lifecycle. This role will play a critical part in validating new functionality, identifying potential points of failure, improving test coverage, and supporting stable, high-quality releases across the Salesforce CRM ecosystem. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring three days per week onsite in Durham, NC; Denver, CO; or Hoboken, NJ.
What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of Software Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience testing Salesforce Service Cloud.
    • Deep understanding of the complete Case Management lifecycle, including case creation, assignment, routing, prioritization, escalation, resolution, closure, and reopening.
    • Experience testing key Service Cloud capabilities such as Email-to-Case, Web-to-Case, Queues and assignment rules ec.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • API and integration testing experience, including validating how data enters Salesforce, moves between systems, and is returned to external partners.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test strategy, defect management, and release validation.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to clearly explain testing decisions, identified risks, failure points, and recommended solutions to both technical and business stakeholders.

Bonus Experience:
  • Salesforce Agentforce experience.
  • Salesforce Data Cloud exposure.
  • Salesforce certifications or formal Salesforce training.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for Salesforce Service Cloud enhancements.
  • Test the end-to-end Case Management lifecycle across Salesforce and integrated systems.
  • Validate Email-to-Case, Web-to-Case, Experience Cloud, routing, assignment, escalation, notification, entitlement, milestone, and SLA functionality.
  • Test API integrations and confirm that data is accurately received, processed, stored, and transmitted between Salesforce and external systems.
  • Identify likely points of failure and create test scenarios that reflect realistic customer, agent, partner, and system behaviors.
  • Perform root-cause analysis to help isolate defects related to configuration, automation, integrations, permissions, or data.
  • Build test strategies and coverage plans based on business requirements, system risks, dependencies, and technical complexity.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, negative, and release testing.
  • Log, document, track, retest, and communicate defects through resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and define meaningful acceptance criteria.
  • Improve automated test coverage, testing processes, documentation, and overall QA best practices.
