Job description

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (Full Stack) with 7+ years of commercial software engineering experience. In this key on-site role in Oakville, you will lead the modernization and architecture of our core diagnostic platforms, developing robust web applications, hardware integrations, and cloud services.

The primary responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

· Diagnostics Modernization: Re-build, architect, and enhance core hardware diagnostic and monitoring platforms for optimal performance and reliability.

· Full-Stack Development: Design, code, and maintain scalable web applications and microservices using Node.js, C#, C++, and modern frontend frameworks (SPA).

· Performance & Security: Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, low latency, and security compliance.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, hardware engineers, and business stakeholders to translate technical requirements into scalable solutions.

· Testing & CI/CD: Drive automated unit testing, code reviews, and CI/CD deployment pipeline improvements across Windows and Linux environments.

· AI & Modern Tooling: Leverage modern AI development tools (e.g., Claude, VS Code AI tools) to streamline engineering efficiency and code quality.

· Technical Documentation: Maintain clean system architecture designs, API specifications, and developer documentation.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.

Work & Technical Experience:

· Experience: 7+ years of software development experience.

· Languages & Frameworks: Node.js, C#, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, Single Page Applications (SPA). Knowledge of MFC VC++, PHP, Go is an asset.

· Databases: MySQL, AWS DynamoDB, and general NoSQL database architectures.

· APIs & Messaging: RESTful APIs (experience with gRPC or MQTT protocols is a plus).

· Cloud & Tools: AWS, Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines.

· Systems & OS: Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux operating environments; embedded systems background.

· AI Developer Tools: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, VS Code, Cursor).

· Software Architecture & Platform Modernization: Proven ability to design, re-architect, and modernize complex software platforms, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
