Compensation
  • Base pay starting between $99,500/yr to $124,000/yr

Job Duties

Design, build, and maintain database systems that support efficient data storage and retrieval, contributing to a robust, scalable, and secure data infrastructure. Develop automation scripts, optimize queries, and work closely with developers to integrate databases into applications. This is a 6-month temporary role with the opportunity to extend based on business needs.

  • Database Specifications: Approve database specifications, ensuring all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved.
  • Data Architecture: Implement all aspects of data architecture, turning event analytics, raw application data, and business systems into key business insights.
  • Data Management: Manage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues. This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes.
  • Technical Database Support: Design distribution of database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database applications for optimum performance.
  • Analysis of “As Is” and “To Be”: Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
  • Continuous Integration: Supervise others on continuous integration activities (sharing, testing and building), working within established operational systems.
  • Application Software Development: Develop existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Develop new routine applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Applications Software Maintenance: Monitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
  • Data and Analytics Strategy: Make recommendations to improve data and analytics systems and platforms, contributing to the continuous improvement and refinement of data and analytics strategy.

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in database development/engineering, with a strong expertise in SQL and relational database management systems
  • Knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling techniques
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly
  • Skill in writing optimized stored procedures, views, and functions to support application and reporting needs
