A Senior Software Engineer Relocation refers to a senior-level software engineering position that includes support for relocating to a different city, state, or country for the job. This typically means the employer provides assistance such as covering moving expenses, helping with visas, or offering temporary housing. Senior Software Engineers in these roles are expected to bring significant technical experience and leadership skills to their new location. Relocation packages can vary widely depending on the company and the destination. These positions are common in global tech companies seeking to attract top talent from around the world.

What are some common challenges Senior Software Engineers may face when relocating for a new role, and how can they prepare for a smooth transition?

Senior Software Engineers relocating for a new position often encounter challenges such as adapting to a new work culture, navigating unfamiliar technologies or systems, and settling into a new city or country. To ensure a smooth transition, it's helpful to communicate proactively with your new team, seek guidance on local best practices, and make use of any relocation support offered by your employer. Additionally, joining internal tech communities and attending onboarding sessions can help you build relationships and quickly acclimate to both the technical and social aspects of your new workplace.

Over 10 million patients rely on Fullscript to stay connected to their care plans and follow through on treatment.

We build tools that make care smarter and more human. Tools that save time, simplify decisions, and help practitioners stay closely connected to the people they care for. When everything they need is in one place, they can focus on what matters most: helping people get better.

This is your invitation.

Bring your ideas, your grit, and your care for people.
Join us and shape the future of care.

The Mission: Core Payments

The Core Payments team is the revenue engine powering Fullscript's growth.

We own the end-to-end ecommerce experience, including cart, checkout, payments, taxes, discounts, payouts, and financial reporting. Every transaction flows through these systems, requiring high reliability, security, and correctness.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior SDET to own the engineering of quality for revenue-critical payment systems. This role focuses on building and evolving automated testing systems, improving developer workflows, and ensuring quality is enforced through engineering practices and not just manual validation.

What You'll Do
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable automated test frameworks (Playwright, API, integration, end-to-end)
  • Build and operate reliable test infrastructure integrated into CI/CD pipelines
  • Drive test automation strategy, optimizing for coverage, speed, and signal quality
  • Identify systemic quality gaps and address them through tooling and engineering improvements
  • Partner with engineers to design systems for testability (e.g., observability, contracts, idempotency)
  • Write production-quality code for test systems, utilities, and supporting infrastructure
  • Improve developer experience by enabling fast, reliable feedback loops
  • Validate complex payment flows and external integrations (e.g., Stripe) through automation-first approaches
  • Lead root cause analysis for defects and implement systemic fixes to prevent recurrence
  • Define and enforce quality standards for high-reliability, revenue-critical systems
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, SDET, or test automation roles
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks at scale
  • Experience with API, integration, and end-to-end testing patterns
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD systems and test pipeline optimization
  • Experience improving test reliability, performance, and maintainability
  • Ability to design systems for testability (e.g., dependency injection, contract testing)
  • Experience working with distributed systems and understanding failure modes
  • Experience with payments, e-commerce, or financial systems (preferred)
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence engineering practices
What We Offer
  • Generous PTO and competitive pay
  • Fullscript's RRSP match program for financial health
  • Flexible benefits package and workplace wellness program
  • Training budget and company-wide learning initiatives
  • Discount on Fullscript catalog of products
  • Ability to work Wherever You Work Well*

*Our Wherever You Work Well philosophy means Fullscript teammates get to pick their own office - whether that's in-office, at home, or a bit of both

Why this role matters

This team owns systems where defects directly impact revenue, financial accuracy, and customer trust. This role ensures quality is engineered into the system-preventing issues before they reach production and enabling safe, reliable delivery at scale.

Compensation range

The salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $165,000 CAD. Fullscript shares salary ranges to support transparency and help candidates make informed decisions. The range shown reflects base salary only and does not include stock options, wellness stipends, or other benefits that are part of Fullscript's total rewards package.

Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and location. We review pay regularly to stay aligned with market data and internal equity. Benefits and total rewards may vary by region.

Why Fullscript

Great work happens when people feel supported, trusted, and inspired. At Fullscript, we stay curious and keep finding smarter ways to make care better. We grow together, take on new challenges, and focus on impact. We put people first, work as a team, and leave egos at the door.
