Job description

We are seeking an experienced senior Software Development Engineer to join our confidential, high-impact program. As a key technical leader, you'll operate at the intersection of startup velocity and enterprise rigor-making significant architectural decisions while building systems that scale rapidly and meet stringent security, compliance, and reliability standards. You'll work with a small, talented team where your contributions directly shape our technical foundation and ability to win enterprise customers.
This role offers direct visibility into strategic decisions, the autonomy to drive technical direction, and the opportunity to solve novel problems in a fast-paced environment where discretion and sound judgment are paramount. We're looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, understands enterprise constraints (security, compliance, SLAs), and can balance moving quickly with building for the long term. Key job responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, secure systems that meet enterprise-grade requirements while maintaining startup velocity and adaptability
- Lead architectural decisions for the confidential program, balancing rapid iteration with long-term scalability, security, and compliance needs
- Establish engineering best practices and operational excellence standards that satisfy enterprise SLAs while enabling fast-paced development
- Mentor engineers and elevate team capabilities, fostering a culture that values both innovation and disciplined execution
- Collaborate with product, security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet stringent enterprise customer requirements
- Drive technical decisions that directly impact go-to-market strategy and customer acquisition in the enterprise space
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex features from design through production deployment, monitoring, and support
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, ensuring mission-critical systems maintain enterprise-level reliability
- Identify and proactively address technical risks, security vulnerabilities, and scalability challenges before they impact customers
- Champion continuous improvement in development velocity, code quality, and system observability
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 8+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 8+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
