Job description

Be Part Of A High-Performing Team
Join a specialized capital-markets quality engineering team responsible for technology supporting sophisticated Fixed Income and derivatives transactions. The group works closely with developers, business analysts, and trading-domain specialists to ensure critical swaps workflows operate accurately across interconnected back-office platforms.
This environment combines practical Python development with deep financial-product knowledge. Engineers work directly with transaction workflows involving confirmations, clearing, payments, settlements, regulatory processes, and other downstream functions supporting institutional derivatives activity.
What's In Store For You
  • Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099).
  • Hybrid position in Charlotte, North Carolina, with three days onsite each week.
  • Remote work is not available.
  • Relocation candidates can be considered when they are fully committed to relocating.
  • Contract-to-convert opportunity within a strategic capital-markets technology organization.
  • Exposure to complex Fixed Income and swaps processing across mission-critical financial systems.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Build and maintain Python automation supporting Fixed Income and swaps applications.
  • Work within existing automation frameworks and expand automated test coverage.
  • Validate swaps through confirmation, clearing, payments, settlement, and regulatory workflows.
  • Test deal-ticket attributes and ensure transaction information moves accurately through downstream systems.
  • Perform defect investigation, triage, and root-cause analysis in collaboration with developers and business analysts.
  • Validate changes across complex back-office trade-processing workflows.
  • Gather requirements through discussions with technical and business stakeholders when formal documentation is limited.
  • Help strengthen quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Do you bring proven success in Python quality engineering and swaps processing?
  • 5-7+ years of quality engineering, SDET, automation, application development, or related technology experience.
  • Strong practical Python programming capability.
  • Hands-on Fixed Income and swaps/derivatives experience.
  • Experience testing or supporting back-office trade-processing applications.
  • Ability to explain a swap transaction from origination through confirmation, clearing, payment, and settlement.
  • Knowledge of actual swap deal-ticket attributes, including notional, fixed and floating legs, reference indexes, spreads, dates, payment schedules, and currency.
  • Experience with automation frameworks and automated test development.
  • Understanding of defect management and defect triage.
  • Knowledge of QA/QE practices and how quality integrates into application-development delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to proactively gather information from developers and business analysts.
  • Ability to work independently without relying on highly detailed instructions.
  • Experience with Murex, Sophis, Summit, Charles River, Aladdin, or comparable proprietary derivatives platforms is valuable.
