Senior Engineer - Qualifications 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering Discipline
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng License) 

Work Experience 

  • Ten (10) years minimum experience in a mining-related environment 

Senior Designer - Qualifications 

Education

  • College diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technician/ or Technologist

Work Experience

  • 5 - 10 years in mining related environment  
  • Knowledge and experience with shaft sinking applications

Senior Engineers 

  • Review and analyze engineering designs for mining structures, systems, and construction safety.
  • Prepare and approve technical drawings and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and mining/heavy industry regulations.
  • Provide consultation on project plans and cost estimates to support efficient decision-making and minimize risk.
  • Deliver critical technical guidance and data to drive successful project execution and construction outcomes.
  • Offer ongoing technical support throughout project lifecycles.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required.
  • Mentor, coach, and support the development of engineers and EITs/ Engineering Graduates 

Senior Designers 

  • Produce drawings from appropriate software accurately and in a timely manner as per specifications and project schedules
  • Preliminary and final design of structures, fixtures and components to support shaft sinking operations
  • Ensure drawings are produced in compliance with legislation, regulations, manufacturer specifications and safety policies
  • Check drawings done by other Designers or Engineers-in-Training
  • Conducts product and/or process research as required for projects with guidance of Manager, Engineering and Technical Services and make recommendations
  • Participate in discussions regarding design and risk management of designsTravel to sites to inspect, take measurements and/or attend technical discussions as needed
