Front End Developer

Overview

The Scylla Group has an immediate opening for a Front End Developer to work with our award winning team in Winchester, VA to build engaging and delightful experiences for web and mobile users. Your experience should demonstrate an empathy for users, a focus on simplicity, strong visual design sensibilities and clean, maintainable code.

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits and a flexible work environment.

The ideal candidate should be well-versed in front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and one or multiple web application frameworks (Angular, VueJS, React, et al). Experience with the Umbraco content management system is a plus!

Desired Skills and Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Expertise with writing vanilla JavaScript
  • Experience with web application frameworks such as Angular, VueJS, React or similar
  • Experience with NodeJS & Webpack for task & build automation a plus
  • Experience with Cypress, Selenium, Browserstack or other testing tools and frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Product Owner and clients to assess technology requirements per project
  • Work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our applications and help to automate and streamline operations and processes
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, test, QA, and production environments
  • Performing script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of test environments for manual and automated testing
  • Developing technical specifications detailing the use of specific technologies for major projects
  • Working closely within an agile team to design, build and deploy web, mobile and application based solutions
  • Express ideas and commit to sharing work and expertise across the team to help maintain our culture of continuous knowledge sharing and learning from one another
