Job description

Our client, a major engineering company, has an immediate need for Mid- and Senior-Level Structural Engineers to work on Oil&Gas projects.

These are office-based contract positions and can be located in Billings, MT; Salt Lake City, UT; or Bellingham, WA.

There are three contract opportunities available: one through January 2027 and two through March 2028.

Position Description

 

What You'll Do

Structural Design Develop calculations and specifications for feasibility studies, permits, and construction packages. Design steel and concrete structures, foundations, and retaining walls while ensuring code compliance.

Project Collaboration Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on industrial and petrochemical projects. Analyze survey data and geotechnical information for project planning and design development.

Field Experience Conduct periodic field visits to monitor construction progress and ensure design conformance. Perform integrity evaluations of existing industrial structures and equipment supports.

What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Education: BS in Civil Engineering
  • License: EIT license required
  • Experience: 6+ years in structural engineering
  • Technical Skills: Steel and concrete structures, foundations, retaining walls, seismic design
  • Software: Microsoft Excel, Word, RISA3D
  • Codes: Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI
  • Ability: Obtain TWIC card

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Petrochemical/heavy industrial industry background
  • Wood and masonry design experience
  • Blast resistant design and Arctic engineering experience
  • Vibration control foundation design
  • Grading, paving, hydrology, or wastewater experience
