Job description


Position Description:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to support on-going development efforts. Uses Maven, Jenkins, Git Stash, and Jira to build and deploy applications for project completion. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for simultaneous projects. Builds and deploys REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using Java Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Rest, and Spring Boot. Develops containerized, Cloud native applications using infrastructure technologies - Kubernetes, Kafka, MSSQL, and DataDog. Organizes data and writes scripts related to software development processes using SQL, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing database optimization and performance tuning, and deploying containerized applications on AKS, in a financial and Cloud environment.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing database optimization and performance tuning, and deploying containerized applications on AKS, in a financial and Cloud environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing distributed microservices architecture using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Config, Hibernate, JPA, Azure Cloud services, and distributed databases (Yugabyte); and designing and developing microservice architecture, building APIs, and integrating distributed systems with Azure.
  • DE designing and implementing relational database schemas aligned with business logic, optimizing PostgreSQL performance through indexing strategies, and comprehensive analysis, using the Rushhour tool.
  • DE designing and implementing event-driven microservice architectures using Azure Service Bus (ASB) topics and queues, Azure Functions, and .NET, to orchestrate asynchronous message processing and workflow automation.
  • DE designing and developing backend applications, implementing RESTful APIs within cloud environments, executing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) within Agile methodologies, and actively participating in Scrum ceremonies (including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) to ensure continuous delivery improvement.
