Job description

The Senior Pricing Analyst - Vendor Quote Management serves as the primary analytical resource responsible for managing the end-to-end vendor Enhanced Pricing Request (EPR) and quote submission process with key vendor partners (e.g., Rheem). This role builds compelling business cases, leverages competitive market intelligence, and ensures that all pricing submissions are accurate, strategically aligned, and delivered on time. The Senior Pricing Analyst partners cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Divisional leadership to drive margin improvement and capture incremental revenue opportunities through vendor-supported pricing programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Submission Oversight & Workflow Management
• Own the end-to-end Enhanced Pricing Request (EPR) and vendor quote submission process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with vendor requirements (e.g., Rheem).
• Develop and maintain standardized submission templates, SOPs, and tracking tools to manage workflows and deadlines across all divisions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor pricing inquiries, submission portals, and approval escalations.
• Monitor submission statuses and proactively communicate updates to internal stakeholders and divisional teams.
• Ensure all submissions comply with vendor program guidelines, pricing governance policies, and internal approval requirements.
• Coordinate with division personnel and pricing teams to validate data inputs, resolve discrepancies, and maintain submission accuracy.
Business Case Development
• Partner with divisional leadership to analyze opportunity size, customer value, and margin impact to support vendor approval decisions.
• Build and maintain financial models that quantify the revenue and gross margin benefit of proposed vendor pricing programs.
• Translate complex pricing data into concise, executive-ready business cases that clearly articulate the strategic rationale for discount requests.
• Identify low-margin accounts and product lines where vendor support can drive profitability improvements.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Operations to gather the inputs needed to build accurate and persuasive submissions.
Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis
• Gather, synthesize, and analyze market price data to substantiate discount requests and justify competitive positioning to vendors.
• Monitor competitor pricing activity, market trends, and industry benchmarks to continuously inform submission strategies.
• Support contract and discount negotiations by supplying competitive pricing context and cost justification analysis.
Reporting, Analytics & Process Improvement
• Prepare and analyze recurring and ad hoc pricing reports, including win/loss analysis on submitted quotes and EPR approval rates.
• Build and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track submission performance, vendor approval trends, and margin outcome
• Identify process gaps within the quoting workflow and lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide daily pricing support to the sales force and branch personnel on pricing issues related to vendor-supported programs.
• Perform other duties and ad hoc reporting as requested by leadership.
In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, procurement analytics, or business planning.
• Demonstrated experience managing vendor quotes, RFQ/RFP processes, or special pricing request workflows.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to build clear, concise business cases and present findings to senior leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with both internal teams and vendor partners.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn new software and systems quickly and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field (or 5+ years of equivalent experience).
• Experience in HVAC, building products, wholesale distribution, or a similar industry.
• Familiarity with vendor-managed pricing portals or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of cost-plus, competitive, or value-based pricing methodologies.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring junior analysts.
