Seniors Helping Seniors® matches mature adults with seniors who need help in order to remain living independently. We're seeking the best In-Home Caregivers in Culver City, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Beverly Hills, Westchester, West LA, and the surrounding communities.
Our team believes that seniors can help each other age with dignity, grace, and respect. One of the most important aspects of our services is providing companionship to those we serve. To do so, we commit to pairing caregivers with care receivers who share similar interests and backgrounds. This ensures a mutually beneficial relationship that helps to encourage a deep and meaningful connection- like getting a little help from your friends®!
Seniors Helping Seniors® caregivers also help with daily tasks like personal care, light house cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, medication reminders, grocery shopping, and transportation to and from appointments or social events. Additionally, we offer 24/7 support for those with more advanced needs, as well as specialized assistance for individuals with Alzheimer's and Dementia.
We are looking for caregivers that are interested in learning and growing their skills within the senior care industry. Our Companion Caregivers are not only reliable, dependable and honest, but also compassionate and caring.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing companionship and conversation
  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting needs, and feeding
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and linen changing
  • Laying out clothes and assisting with dressing
  • Planning and preparing meals
  • Providing medication reminders
  • Providing transportation to and from appointments
  • Helping family members learn safe care techniques
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mature individuals who consistently demonstrate patience, empathy, reliability, professionalism, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, are personable, and 40+ years old preferred (helps with compatibility and matching clients with caregivers).
  • Willingness to work harmoniously with staff, clients, and client's families.
  • Legal resident of the U.S.
  • Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
  • Ability to interpret the client's provided plan of care
  • Valid California Driver's License, Clean Driving Record with no more than 2 moving violations, and a dependable Vehicle with Current Auto Insurance is required for most positions. Some exceptions may apply.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
  • Tolerance to small pets (i.e. dogs and/or cats)
  • Must have knowledge of smartphone and app technology for trainings, clocking in/out, reporting caregiver tasks and notes
  • Must be able to be reached via phone, text, or email for shift schedules, client updates and/or emergencies
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and move intermittently during working hours. Able-bodied is a must!
  • California law requires all caregivers to pass a background check with the Department of Justice and FBI (via LiveScan fingerprint process). A fair amount of people knowingly or unknowingly are already cleared and we can easily help you check. If not, it's a simple process we'll walk you through!
  • Must be COVID vaccinated
  • Prior experience with senior care, a plus!
