Job Description LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Security Operations (SecOps) Specialist for a contract through December 31, 2027 with its Ottawa/Toronto-based customer. Work Location The successful candidate will be required to work approximately 1 day per week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa or Toronto, ON. Key Tasks Support the migration of log sources from the legacy SIEM to the new SIEM platform Tune and optimize logs to improve security monitoring and detection Validate appropriate log coverage in partnership with detection engineers and red teams Support cybersecurity maturation and SIEM modernization initiatives Contribute to the development and enhancement of alerting and detection capabilities Provide day-to-day Security Operations support as required Mentor junior Security Operations team members and provide knowledge transfer to permanent staff Collaborate with technical leads, security engineers, detection engineers, and other cybersecurity stakeholders Support the transition of new capabilities into ongoing Security Operations Identify opportunities to improve Security Operations processes, monitoring, and detection effectiveness Key Qualifications 12+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with a strong hands-on Security Operations / SOC background Demonstrated expertise in SIEM platforms, log management, log source migration, log tuning, and detection Proven ability to mentor junior cybersecurity professionals and transfer technical knowledge within a matrixed environment Qualifications Experience improving log coverage and detection capabilities in collaboration with detection engineers and/or red teams Google SecOps experience is an asset Secret / Level 2 security clearance preferred; must be eligible to obtain clearance Ottawa or Toronto-based; ability to work onsite approximately one day per week Strong communication and collaboration skills across Security Operations, engineering, detection, and project teams Ability to operate independently and contribute effectively within a matrixed technical environment Bilingualism not required Compensation Hourly Rate Negotiable This is an existing position vacancy.
