Job description

The Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, that has the largest residency program in the country and is one of the largest and best departments in the US, is seeking academic, board certified medical and cosmetic dermatologists with a strong academic track record and/or academic productivity and publications to join its growing faculty.
We are particularly interested in a senior dermatologist and in a junior dermatologist with interest and expertise in skin of color, as director and associate director of the skin of color center, respectively, based on experience and academic level. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidates, given that our department is a leader in clinical and translational research in skin of color to develop the skin of color center into the leading skin of color center in the US and beyond. The successful candidates will be joining our 27 faculty members, and will be offered a highly supportive environment.
The qualified candidates are expected to provide medical and/or cosmetic dermatology services and to develop clinical, translational and/or basic research involving conditions related to skin of color (such as keloids, vitiligo, CCCA, etc). The candidates are also expected to mentor and help develop the next generation dermatologists. The senior candidate will be expected to be part of the department management team and interact with senior hospital and school leadership.
The ideal candidate should have:
* Have experience in lasers, and cosmetic procedures, including for skin of color.
* Have a robust interest in academics, teaching, scholarly projects, and clinical/translational or basic research, and particularly in conditions involving patients of color.
* Strong academic record of publications and research
* Track record of foundation/NIH grants (particularly senior candidate)
* Have a collegial and team player mindset, be able to thrive in a team environment
* Experience in clinical trials

Qualifications:
* Board Certified/Board Eligible
* Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of New York
* Track record of academic productivity, research and publications, including in skin of color
* Experience in clinical trials and/or Clinical/translational Research is a plus
* Expertise in Cosmetic procedures and Lasers is a plus

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
