Job description

Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be the hands-on technical expert customers rely on to keep their CNC machines and automation systems running at peak performance. You'll travel to customer sites in the Jackson, MS region to install new equipment, maintain and troubleshoot existing systems, and provide the kind of responsive, knowledgeable service that builds long-term customer trust.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, commission, and start up CNC machines and automation systems at customer locations
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Diagnose issues involving CNC controls, servo systems, PLCs, and machine components
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on proper machine operation and maintenance
  • Document service activities, parts usage, and resolutions accurately
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication and service excellence
  • Travel regionally (within a few hours of Jackson) to support customer sites as needed

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Military technical background highly preferred (Navy ET, EM, MM, GSE; Army 91-series; Air Force maintenance; or similar)
  • Experience with industrial equipment, CNC machines, automation, or heavy mechanical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and/or electronic systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible regional travel schedule
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments such as manufacturing floors and machine shops
  • Valid driver's license required

Nice-To-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Experience with CNC controls (Mazatrol, Fanuc, Siemens)
  • Knowledge of PLCs, servo motors, drives, and motion control systems
  • Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision alignment
  • Prior field service or customer-facing technical experience
