Job description

VOLCANIX AUTOMATION is seeking Robot Programmers to commissioning and support projects in North America. This is a hands-on programming role: you'll be on the floor writing, tuning, and optimizing robot programs across production lines. The work involves new cell integration, process refinement, and keeping robotic systems running at high utilization.

We're building a multi-person team spanning intermediate and senior programmers, and we're hiring at both levels at once. Experience with at least FANUC or ABB is required; knowing both is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program, teach, and optimize industrial robots
  • Develop and modify robot programs for material handling, assembly, dispensing, and process applications
  • Support commissioning and debugging of robotic cells, from installation through production handoff
  • Tune robot paths, speeds, and process parameters to meet cycle time and quality targets
  • Integrate robotic systems with PLC-controlled equipment and safety devices
  • Troubleshoot robot faults, communication issues, and process failures on-site
  • Support production launches, startups, and ramp-up activities
  • Perform backup management, program version control, and documentation
  • Collaborate with controls engineers, mechanical teams, and production staff
  • Participate in system validation, run-offs, and customer acceptance activities
  • Follow client programming standards and documentation requirements

Experience Levels We're Hiring For

Intermediate Robot Programmer

  • 3+ years of hands-on robot programming experience
  • Proficiency on one or more of: FANUC, ABB
  • Familiarity with robot simulation tools (Roboguide, RobotStudio)
  • Able to write new robot programs and modify existing code, with guidance from senior programmers on complex new-cell development
  • Working familiarity with robot initialization and configuration: I/O configuration, safety zones, TCP & payload
  • Solid path optimization and cycle time improvement skills
  • Nice to have: vision-guided robotics, dispensing/sealing applications, palletizing or high-speed material handling, Siemens PLC or Ignition exposure

Senior Robot Programmer

  • 7+ years of hands-on robot programming experience
  • Strong proficiency on one or more of: FANUC, ABB
  • Experience with robot simulation tools (Roboguide, RobotStudio)
  • Proven ability to create programs from scratch, not just modify existing code
  • Experience with robot initialization and configuration: I/O configuration, safety zones, TCP & payload
  • Strong path optimization and cycle time improvement skills
  • Nice to have: vision-guided robotics, dispensing/sealing applications, palletizing or high-speed material handling, Siemens PLC or Ignition exposure

Both levels: comfort working on-site in fast-paced production environments, a strong problem-solving mindset, and excellent communication and documentation skills are expected. Engineering or technical degree preferred.

Work Authorization

We welcome candidates who are:

  • Eligible for TN Visa
  • Authorized to work and travel across North America
