Perioperative Services Registered Nurse - RN
About the Position:
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Registered Nurse to join our Perioperative Services team in Northern Los Angeles. In this pivotal role, you will provide outstanding nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative process, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative stages. This position requires advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest standards of patient safety and care within the perioperative setting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide expert nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process (preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative).
  • Assess patient needs, perform preoperative assessments, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
  • Administer anesthesia, medications, and treatments as required, following protocols and physician orders.
  • Monitor patients during surgery and recovery, ensuring optimal safety and comfort.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, recovery plans, and postoperative care.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for junior nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring best practices in perioperative care.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in perioperative services, including scrub and circulating roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, including anesthesia and surgical care.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required.
  • CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to patient care.
