Job Description: 

This position is responsible for quality improvement related to suppliers and/or subcontractors of materials, products and services used in development and manufacturing. Support the implementation of Zero-Defect Plans (ZDP) with critical suppliers, by assisting them to develop robust processes, perform process/product validations, and recommending manufacturability improvements (process and design). Supports L3Harris operations when supplied material is identified as nonconforming and drive corrective action(s) with the supplier. Analyzes supplier performance and develop improvement plans to drive down supplier DPPM and nonconformance rates.

Essential Functions:

  • Use Six Sigma & Lean concepts for supplier improvement of quality and delivery metrics.
  • Provide training for basic quality methodologies to support supplier partnerships.
  • Support programs assessing potential new suppliers.
  • Implement supplier partnership concepts with focus suppliers.
  • Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Perform and evaluate root cause and corrective action to correct product/process deficiencies, ensuring implementation with suppliers and effectiveness of actions.
  • Perform elements of Advanced Product Quality Planning (Process Flow Diagrams & Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and First Articles).
  • Perform Statistical Process Control, Predictive Quality methodologies, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Work proactively with L3Harris suppliers utilizing tools such as APQP and Zero-Defect Planning to mitigate the risk of escapes to L3Harris and L3Harris customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% percent.
  • Ability to work flexible hours on an as need basis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in circuit card assembly and/or printed wiring board design and fabrication.
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using standard RCA tools.
  • Ability to obtain US Government clearance

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:  

  • AS9102 FAI experience
  • Working knowledge of PPAP implementation and associated elements
  • Experience with Predictive Quality and problem-solving methodologies
  • ISO9001/AS9100 and process audit experience
  • ZDP Project Management
