Job description

Project Estimator (Crane / All Terrain) — Deer Park, NY

A well established crane and heavy lift company in the Deer Park, NY area is hiring a Project Estimator to own the estimating function on crane and heavy lift projects across the New York metro and Long Island market. This is a mid to senior level seat for someone who knows how a lift comes together on paper before it ever leaves the yard. All terrain crane experience is strongly preferred.

You will be responsible for building accurate, competitive estimates from the ground up. That means reading the project, understanding the site, pricing the labor and equipment, and accounting for everything that drives cost on a crane job, from permitting and road closures to rigging, transport, setup, and material. You will work directly with operations, sales, and project teams to turn a customer's scope into a number the company can stand behind and win on.

What you will do:

  • Prepare detailed estimates and bids for crane and rigging projects, including all terrain, rough terrain, and mobile crane work
  • Review project plans, lift plans, and site conditions to scope labor, equipment, transport, and crew requirements
  • Account for permitting, road and lane closures, escorts, mobilization, and demobilization
  • Price materials, rigging, and consumables and build in the right contingencies
  • Coordinate with operations and sales to validate scope and confirm equipment availability
  • Track bid outcomes and refine estimating accuracy over time
  • Maintain pricing models and cost databases as market rates shift

What you bring:

  • Five or more years of estimating experience in Industrial HVAC, Telecom, construction, heavy equipment, or crane and rigging
  • Crane experience strongly preferred, all terrain crane experience a major plus
  • Strong command of construction project estimating from permitting and closures through material and labor
  • Ability to read plans, lift plans, and site documentation
  • Comfortable working across operations, sales, and project teams
  • Detail driven, deadline driven, and confident defending a number
  • Knowledge of the NY metro and Long Island permitting and DOT environment is a plus

This is a direct hire opportunity with competitive compensation, full benefits, and the chance to estimate some of the most technical lift work in the region. Company details will be shared with qualified candidates during the screening process.
