Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking a Construction Manager - Construction Administrator to support the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades across Lake City VA Medical Center (Lake City VAMC). You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive program of Project Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, Design reviews and Value Management Assessments, Safety Compliance Reviews, Monitoring and Testing Compliance, Record Keeping, Cost Estimating /Budget Control, and Change Management Documentation Management.
Salary range for this position is $100,000 - 115,000/year (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).
This position is contingent upon the award of the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate project tracking reports (PTRs), budgets, schedules, and documentation in compliance with VA standards and approved project scopes.
  • Conduct detailed technical and constructability reviews of re-designs and future EHRM project designs; verify compliance with codes, scope, and budget; and provide written comments and recommendations to the COR.
  • Review A/E cost estimates, monitor overall project budgets and funding, analyze pay applications, track cost projections, and promptly notify the COR of potential overruns or funding issues.
  • Prepare and review project schedules, monitor progress, evaluate contract modifications and change requests, assist with procurement activities in accordance with FAR, and provide analysis on bids and contract actions to the COR.
  • Inspect construction work for compliance, monitor safety and labor standards, track defects and omissions, review submittals and shop drawings, prepare required reports, and coordinate project-related activities, including furniture moves.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:
  • Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or evidence work experience or knowledge to compensate for absence of higher education. Minimum of three (3) years of construction work experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for acceptability in lieu of education
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, permitting, regulations, materials, methods, and construction processes and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software to create drawings or virtual models of design elements.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including healthcare regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with experience in preparing reports and briefing management.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, manage conflicts, and solve complex problems.
  • Knowledge of safety practices, including OSHA requirements, and familiarity with modern construction products and techniques.
