Job Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the direct management of projects. This includes, but is not limited to: project scoping and budget development; project planning and scheduling; obtaining subcontractors and vendors; coordinating the work of multiple subcontractors; managing changes in work scope; provide advice, guidance, and direction to assigned project management staff and field personnel toward their personal development; and monitoring work progress to ensure adherence to work specifications, timelines, budgets, contract administration, and all company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Directors and other Managers to promote efficient and collaborative resource utilization and effective execution across multiple offices.
  • Foster a superior customer service attitude across all employees and sites.
  • Coordinate efforts with multiple branches, Regional Directors, Branch Managers, and company team members to implement plans and policies to achieve overall objectives and ensure operating results.
  • Defines project needs, develops project scope, and work plans for more complex projects which are larger in size, scope, budget, and impact.
  • Cost Estimation and Proposal Development: Provide historical data for key projects. Participate in estimates for regional pursuits and prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates and proposals for applicable projects. Review project specifications, conduct site visits and client meetings, and analyze data to develop competitive and compelling proposals within the operational capabilities of the applicable team.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Ensure proper sourcing procedures are followed and that compliant products and services are sourced at competitive prices. Develop strong relationships with key vendors and subcontractors to promote long-term collaboration and ensure timely delivery and consistent quality.
  • Client Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for clients and develop key relationships for long-term stability and growth. Engage with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide expert guidance on solutions.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments for each project to identify potential challenges and opportunities. Develop risk mitigation plans and alternate solutions when warranted to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to identify high-value opportunities as well as establishing and maintaining key client relationships.
  • Participate as-needed for cross-region and cross-company pursuits in the overall best interests of the companies.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Monitor all expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure project activities adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, coordinating all required involvement from the Safety Team, and promoting a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Promote, implement, and ensure compliance with all applicable federal state, county, and local safety related regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in construction and/or project management within the industrial contracting industry.
  • Strong understanding of principles and practices of project management, including planning, scheduling, organizing, and coordinating.
  • Demonstrated success in supervising cost controls, budgeting, and tracking for complex projects.
  • Demonstrated skill in contract negotiation tactics and strategies.
  • Proficiency in construction software, project management tools, and industry-specific software (e.g., Accubid, Primavera, ViewPoint, Bluebeam,).
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and personnel simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to provide timely, reliable, efficient, and courteous communication to internal and external clients.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, equipment, and components is desired but not required.
