Job Description: Senior Cost Accountant

Summary: To maintain and analyze records affecting manufacturing costs and inventory values. Perform routine and special cost analyses in support of the manufacturing effort within the guidelines of corporate policies and procedures by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assists with journal entries for inventory, adjustments and reserve
• Analyzes and reports the cost effect of changes in the manufacturing process.
• Reviews engineering master cost estimates.
• Assists in developing overhead rates, assists in the budgeting process
• Develops margin forecasts and performs analysis of product cost/margin
• Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability
• Provides information to management to assist in monthly closings.
• Tracks efficiency and utilization of labor.
• Participates in the year-end audit
• Assists in the preparation of requests for new plant and/or equipment by providing data on the new plant and/or equipment’s' impact on the manufacturing cost structure.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Responsible for fixed assets tracking, spending, and conducting an inventory every 3 years.
