Job description

Overview

The Sr. Demand Planner plays a key role in ensuring our future forecasts are accurate and align with Category Management and Merchandise Planning.  Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Replenishment, working closely with the Sr. Replenishment Analyst and Replenishment Analysts to refine items throughout the product lifecycle.  They will utilize our demand planning tool (Relex) through exceptions and advanced forecasting parameter management to drive acceptable forecast accuracy measures.  They will work directly with the Business System Administrator to develop on-going system and process enhancements to improve workflows and overall accuracy.  The demand developed will be used for replenishment orders and drive DC (Distribution Centers), Logistics and Stores to help plan labor and assets to drive efficiency. 

This position is located at our Store Support Office in Phoenix, Arizona, and operates on a hybrid schedule (in office Tuesday-Thursday).

Essential Functions
  • Overall responsibility to refine and/or develop forecasts by item for assigned categories 
  • Daily management of system exceptions to maximize fill-rates and freshness 
  • Works closely with DC Inventory Management to share forecasted store orders and inbound demand. 
  • Partners with Inventory Analyst team to refine exceptions, new and discontinued items 
  • Works closely with the Merchandise Planning team to align overall category forecast and promotional planning 
  • Clear communicator of known issues impact ability to meet KPI's 
  • Ability to create strategies working with the broader team to meet category goals 
  • Be an active participant to drive continuous improvement ideas for systems and processes 
  • A key contributor to weekly meetings outlining trends to capitalize on while minimizing negative impacts

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with a minimum of ten (5) years of experience in produce buying; or an acceptable combination of education and experience 
  • Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to supervise personnel effectively. 
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information. 
  • Sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize. 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook). 
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service. 
  • Relex or similar Inventory Management tool experience preferred
