Job description

Applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
The Senior System Engineer participates in developing technical support for operating systems capabilities and other software tools. This role troubleshoots software programs and implements systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
Controls user access and passwords with responsibility for security.
Develop and execute firm-wide plan regarding operating systems including installation and on-going administration.
Develops software tools including operating systems, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools.
Monitor usage and performance of systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems (RHEL, AlmaLinux)
  • Automate provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Bash, and Terraform
  • Manage LVM, filesystems, storage expansions, and mount points
  • Support identity and privileged access using Delinea / Centrify for Active Directory Linux integration
  • Perform patching and lifecycle management using Red Hat Satellite
  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified by Rapid7 and CrowdStrike EDR
  • Manage firewalld, iptables, TCP/IP, DNS, and AWS Route 53
  • Administer SSL/TLS certificates via DigiCert CertCentral
  • Manage domain registrars and renewals for multiple corporate domains
  • Support VMware and other virtualized environments
  • Assist with infrastructure support for cloud and AI-enabled SaaS platforms
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for production systems
  • Experience with patching, vulnerability management, and production operations

Experience Required:
  • Bachelor; Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering
  • Typically 5 years business experience; emerge as an expert in a specific skill set, business area or product, but remains focused primarily on daily execution.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ITIL practices, IT-Service-Management, and operations processes.
  • Advanced skill in project management.
  • Knowledge of system testing metrics, best practices and methodologies.
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
  • Combination of Windows, Linux, and virtualized platforms. Experience with current computing platforms.
  • Complete day-to-day activities independently. Interpersonal skills necessary to oversee a small team of junior staff.

Starting Compensation
Annual Salary: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)
