Job description

This role is for a business development leader who understands the operational mission of the U.S. Marine Corps and can translate complex defense needs into scalable software solutions. You will lead Reveal's engagement with Marine stakeholders, drive strategic growth initiatives, and partner closely with engineering and business teams to deliver measurable impact across DoD programs. Success in this role requires deep sales experience with the Marines, strong executive relationships, and the ability to operate independently in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the relationship between Reveal and the Marines in order to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Business and Engineering leads to develop and execute coordinated approaches to new business opportunities.
  • Deliver on financial performance commitments and build strategic market growth initiatives.
  • Build and execute a cohesive, data-driven strategy to generate and capture new business.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the existing and prospective client base, know the current or planned programmatic and technical roadmaps, and understand the competitive landscape.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with critical U.S. Marine stakeholders to identify new business opportunities, proactively communicate and resolve program issues, and provide strategic direction across Reveal's growth, delivery, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Inform the team and business of ongoing engagement with clients and translation of client challenges into material solutions.
  • Communicate Reveal's value to customers, partners, and the interested public.

Requirements

  • Reveal is a fully remote company, but due to nature of the work, this person must be located in the greater Washington DC metro area.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%, mostly travel to VA.
  • Proven success in developing business with the USMC, optimally, software solutions.
  • Experience working at or with Department of Defense.
  • Experience creating cross-functional teams and aligning them around a common vision and objectives.
  • Federal Sales and Acquisition experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with government business development, government contract structures, and government proposal processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience working with the Program Executive Offices, Major Defense Acquisition Programs, Prime contractors, and other stakeholder organizations across the Marine and broader Department of Defense.
  • Experience in the technical, programmatic, and operational challenges of developing, deploying, and sustaining complex technologies, software, and integrated weapons systems.
  • Ability to identify, establish, and leverage key relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within the U.S. Marines and broader DoD.

Compensation

  • Salary ($160,000 - $180,000) + Commission + Equity
  • Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
