Job description

Responsibilities
  • Leading SRE teams by providing technical mentorship, feedback and guidelines, and by organizing project‑specific work.
  • Driving partnership with Engineering, Operations and Product teams to help guide adoption of new features and processes.
  • Applying analytical skills and statistical insights to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges, and propose solutions.
  • Defining, implementing, and mining data feeds drawn from third‑party and internal sources to produce insights that influence company decision‑making.
  • Influencing company decision‑making at the highest levels to identify areas for new technology investments.
  • Building software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent.
  • Analytical background with experience in statistical data analysis.
  • Experience coding in at least one of the following languages: Python, Perl, SQL, Java, C, or R.
  • Proven ability to provide insightful and well‑received technical feedback.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to articulate technical information in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
  • Experience with Internet protocols (DNS/HTTP/TLS/TCP).
Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US‑based candidates only, the base salary for this position ranges from $146,400 - $263,600 per year; salary is determined by various factors including relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities (annual bonus or incentives), equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
