The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) Long Range Radars department is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer, focusing on the Reliability Engineer discipline.  This role is an onsite role based out of Woburn, MA location. Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability, System Safety, and Supportability.


What You Will Do

This role will support both functions of Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Engineering and Failure Reporting Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Engineering and will be responsible for executing the RAM/FRACAS program activities such as:

  • Conducting RAM analyses, including reliability predictions and maintainability predictions.

  • Performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FDFI) analyses.

  • Generating Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs)/system models.

  • Defining/allocating RAM requirements.

  • Reviewing field failure data and assessing performance using calculations such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time Between Critical Failure (MTBCF) & Operational Availability (Ao).

  • Interpreting data and analyzing results.

  • Ensuring performance compliance to requirements.

  • Assisting in maintaining FMECAs and RBDs.

  • Providing RAM input and support to program meetings such as Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).

  • Working cross-functionally with Sustainment, Site, and other Life Cycle Engineering teams.

  • Supporting the proposal process in developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for RAM work.

  • Tracking Earned Value (EV) and providing accurate status on the schedule and budget for the RAM scope.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience with Failure Analysis, Reliability, and/or FRACAS Engineering concepts.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Reliability Engineering Concepts including knowledge of reliability and maintainability predictions, FMECA/FDFI, RBDs, MTBF/MTBCF, Ao.

  • Electrical Engineering experience, Electrical Engineering degree/education preferred.

  • Task leadership or project management experience, familiar with concepts such as Earned Value.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to present technical material to audiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
